Seeks Nominees for Provincial Boards

At the 2010 Synod of the Moravian Church, Southern Province, delegates will elect individuals to serve 4-year terms on a variety of provincial church boards.

The Nominations & Elections Committee is currently seeking applications for the following boards:

• Board of Directors, Board of World Mission - 2 board positions
• Board of Directors, Mission Society - 12 board positions
• Board of Trustees, Moravian Theological Seminary - 2 board positions
• Board of Trustees, Salem Academy and College - 5 board positions
• Board of Trustees, Salemtowne - 4 board positions
• Provincial Elders' Conference - 3 clergy positions, 3 layperson positions
• Provincial Women's Board - 10 board positions
• Provincial Financial Board - Refer to the Financial Board page for special notes about Financial Board nominations.

Application Process

All are welcome to apply for nomination for these positions no later than April 5, 2010.

• To apply as a candidate for nomination to any of the Provincial Boards EXCEPT Provincial Elders' Conference, complete the online Candidate Information Form. Those interested in service on the Provincial Elders' Conference should complete the PEC Candidate Information Form.

Nominations Process

The Nominations Committee reviews all candidate information and determines which candidates qualify to become official nominees for the 2010 Synod Elections. An election manual which includes sample ballots is forwarded to 2010 Synod delegates for review beginning in June of 2010. The Committee will notify candidates about whether or not they are selected for formal nomination. Elections will be held during the 2010 Synod, taking place September 9-12, 2010 at Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC.
