250th Anniversary Events

250th Anniversary of Southern Province,
November 17, 2003

The Music Committee for the 250th Anniversary Celebration has scheduled organ recitals, Commemorative Concert Series, as part of the celebration:

• September 14, 2003, 3:00 PM
  Friedland Moravian Church
  Recitalist: Jean Turner Blackwood, Organ
  (rescheduled due to inclement weather)
• October 5, 2003, 3:00 PM
  Bethania Church
  Recitalist: Scott Rainey, Organ

September 21, 2003. Band Fest, Clemmons Moravian Church. Band members from Moravian churches will be invited to participate. There will be afternoon rehearsals for beginners and for experienced players, followed by an evening band concert in the sanctuary of Clemmons Church.

October 24-25, 2003. Moravian Handbell Festival at Friedberg Moravian Church.

November 16, 2003 at 3pm. 250th Anniversary Celebration Worship Service, Wait Chapel, Wake Forest University. Special music has been commissioned from contemporary Moravian composers. Combined adult choirs and children's choirs will be directed by Drake Flynt. Dr. C. Daniel Crews will be speaker, and Dr. Robert Sawyer, President, PEC, will preside.
